Video Combustion was fortunate
to be documented during the planning staged and performance. On behalf of the Video Combustion
crew, we wish to thank Michael Ney (Sensory Image) for his involvement
in the project as documentary producer; also the crew
including Alarna Jenkins (Camera) and Lucas Abela (Sound) in particular.
Firstly, our appreciation
for documenting the process leading up to and including the performance
itself. Without this documentation there would be little to remember
the project by, other than a handful of reviews. We were all too busy
working on our own areas of the project with little time to document
the process. We respect the amount of work involved in this endeavour.
As an archive, and promotional material, it will be invaluable.
We recognize the amount of
effort required to capture an event such as Video Combustion (having
many multiple threads of interest and participants) and thank the crew
for their ongoing participation in the many meetings, workshops as well
as organising countless interviews as well as being there for the show
itself. It is not an easy task to follow the lives of a group of highly
strung, dedicated and passionate artists who are focussed on a particular
objective; at times we would have been difficult to deal with and the
documentary crew generally were very supportive of both our project
and our priorities.
Finally, our encouragement
to develop the video combustion footage into a fully fledged documentary.
We are aware that almost 50 hours of material was shot over about four
weeks, a fabulous achievement by a small and hardworking crew. We will
be looking forward to seeing the finished product, and will post further
information here about the progress of the documentary project.
Many Thanks,
